I was having a conversation with my wife. We were talking about school days, and then I got wondering where some of my old friends might be. No matter how much information is on the internet, mostly no-one can be found. I don’t know if anyone out there knows this is the Tom Wheeler that went to Evergreen. If you happen to come across this blog — drop me a line.
No — I did not attend the Reunion. It just would not have worked out. I suppose I shouldn’t complain since I didn’t even go.
I was telling my wife about how once when I still lived in Idaho, I went to my friend’s house in Caldwell. I didn’t like Caldwell because they had “gangs.” I was 12, so “gangs” were everywhere. My friend and I were walking back to his house, I think we were coming from the Circle-K in his neighborhood. While we were walking we saw these other kids bigger than us (that’s read as “gangsters”). They walked up to us and looked menacing and said something threatening. I knew I was about to be killed. I literally started to pee my pants. Then I thought — oh man, if I pee my pants they’ll beat me up for sure, no-one likes a kid who pees his pants! The lesson I learned here is that stories like this will make your wife laugh.
